An International University in the Heart of the Black Forest
Furtwangen University is located over 3 campuses in small, friendly towns, surrounded by the natural beauty of the Black Forest region of southern Germany, one of the most popular tourist areas in the world.
Yet, HFU is the ideal study location for those who want to be close to the cutting edge without giving up quality of life. You will study in an innovative, modern degree programme in high-tech facilities alongside students from every corner of the globe. And Furtwangen's location in the very heart of Europe means many of Europe's major cities, such as Freiburg, Strasbourg, Stuttgart and Zürich are not far away. What's more, this is one of the fastest-growing and most vibrant economic regions in Europe, home to many global companies such as Porsche, Daimler, Bosch, Siemens and SAP, with whom HFU maintains excellent contacts.
On campus there is an impressive range of student clubs and organizations to get involved in, such as the Big Band, a business consulting group, the International Student Community and Enactus, an international student organization that sets up social projects to help local communities. Students themselves organize many sports, social and business events including the French, Spanish and Chinese evenings on the Schwenningen campus, and the International Festival co-hosted with the town of Furtwangen. The flyers in the column on the right, produced by a group of students, give an insight into life on campus.
You'll find out a lot more about life on and off campus in the following pages, but first have a look here at what our students have to say about studying at Furtwangen University.
