A consecutive Master's degree in Security & Safety Engineering was offered for the first time in summer semester 2013. The master's programme is open to graduates of the BA Security & Safety Engineering programme and to those with similar qualifications and a background in engineering or natural sciences.

The degree programme lasts three semesters, the first two of which are divided into 5 modules. Courses taken in the first semester are selected courses in natural sciences, higher mathematics, security & safety engineering, law and management and safety psychology. The second semester offers courses in quantitative risk analysis, system integration, two compulsory electives and a scientific project. The thesis is written in the third semester.

The goal of the programme is to provide advanced expertise in the general field of security and safety engineering, although specialization in particular areas is also possible.

This master's degree programme prepares graduates to deal with complex and multidisciplinary security tasks. The programme is also designed to help students develop outstanding decision-making abilities and leadership qualities.
