Application

Students from any of our partner universities who wish to study at Furtwangen University for one or two semesters, have to be nominated their home university. Once the home university's nomination has been received by HFU, the student has to apply to us directly using the Online Application Form for International Exchange Students. 

The following deadlines apply:

1st February - 1st May for an exchange during the winter semester (start in September) 

1st August - 1st November for an exchange during the summer semester (start in March) 

Exchange students can be admitted for one or two semesters. Exchange students are not entitled to graduate at Furtwangen University. 

Exchange students who will study with us in English or complete a project here, will not have to submit a proof of German language skills. We do however advise you to acquire some basic German prior to your arrival to make getting by in everyday life easier.

Excellent English skills are a prerequisite for the successful completion of any modules taught in English. 

Participation in the Orientation Programme for International Students organised by the International Center is mandatory for all exchange students.
