As a rule HFU students in most degree programmes can apply either to an HFU partner university (through an ERASMUS or a general cooperation agreement) or to a non-partner university as a so-called freemover. HFU has worldwide over 100 Partner universities, half of which we have general cooperation agreements with. With the other half we have ERASMUS agreements. A general description of the various programmes available can be found below. Detailed information on the individual programmes and the application process can be found under application.
General HFU Cooperation Programmes
A certain number of tuition free exchange study places for particular degree programmes are available for HFU students each academic year at universities with which we have a general cooperation agreement.
If the number of exchange places is not balanced, however, HFU students might have to pay tuition fees. This is often the case in English speaking countries. Im most cases HFU students only have to pay reduced tuition rates (in-state/resident tuition).
The exchange semester can also be organized through the ERASMUS+ Programme. HFU has an ERASMUS agreement with almost 70 European universities.
More Information about the ERASMUS+-Programme and the application procedure can be found here.
Double Degree Programme
Through cooperation agreements, it is possible to do a double degree with some of our partner universities. Further information can be obtained from the International Coordinators in the faculties.
