Environmental Systems Engineering
This research priority area comprises all areas of environmental engineering that are important to industrial companies. Environmental process engineering develops procedures for the (physical, chemical, and/or biological) treatment of water as well as biosensors and novel excimer UV lamps for use in photochemistry and photomedicine. Environmental education provides employees with the know-how they need, especially when it pertains to handling hazardous materials and relevant legislation. Environmental management controls a company's entire materials cycle and environmental information systems provide the necessary information for this task. The measurement of radioactivity provides important data for industry and communities. This research area is closely related to the instruction provided by involved professors from the Faculty of Mechanical and Process Engineering. Thus, all research areas are reflected in or actively integrated into the curriculum.
