Efficiency and Innovativeness of Homogenous and Heterogeneous Inventor Teams in Research and Development
Project duration: April 2009 – March 2011
The EFFINET study examined the question of whether and how gender-homogenous and gender-heterogeneous teams within research and development working at German patent-producing companies differ in their work methods and efficiency. It also investigated the extent to which organisational structures affect the innovative competence and inventiveness of groups and individuals. The results were used to develop recommendations for promoting equal opportunities for women and men in research and development. The project was funded by the German Ministry of Education and Research, with co-funding from the European Social Fund.
