ISAAT 2011 International Symposium on Advances in Abrasive Technology
The 14th ISAAT (International Symposium on Advances in Abrasive Technology) was held for the first time in Germany from 18 to 21 September, 2011 in Stuttgart. The symposium chairman was Prof. Dr. Tawakoli, former Director of the Institute for Precision Machining (KSF) Furtwangen University.
The aim of the prestigious annual conference which is held in different cities around the world, was to bring scientists and experts from around the world together to promote the exchange of knowledge of the latest developments and applications in the area of grinding and precision technologies.
Topics discussed included abrasive technologies, grinding, honing, lapping, ELID, Silicium technology, machining concepts, turning, milling, tools, processes, ultrasound-supported chip removal, coolant lubricants,.
The 2 day Symposium was opened by the President of Furtwangen University, Prof. Schofer and was attended by over 170 participants. The 800-page scientific publication which resulted, included many internationally recognized scientists.
