Lab and office facilities are important to us as we want to offer our staff and students the best possible working environment. The research institute has 2 labs which are available to students. These are the DCSP lab for Digital Signal Processing and Embedded System and the Antenna technology lab.

A selection of student projects which have been realized in these labs can be found here.

The ReSP Research Group has premises in the B building of  Furtwangen University.

Digital Signal Processing and Embedded Systems

Besides being used for ISS research work, the Digital Signal Processing and Embedded Systems Lab is used mainly for the training of students.

The practical for the Digital Signal Processing course and the Embedded Systems project seminar are held here. The lab equipment ranges from basic work tools and measuring equipment such as adapters, oscilloscopes and multimeters to an excellent range of development boards and programming adapters which are used for the development of microcontroller systems. In addition the lab has everything which is needed for the development, assembly and starting up of PCBs. This includes soldering equipment, microscope, soldering magnifying glass and a PCB electric drill. There is also a range of measurement devices. Additionally the lab has a large amount of workspace and many PC pools which gives the students a pleasant and efficient environment to work in. These facilities are used by students throughout the day.

Antennae Lab

The Antennae lab is used by the ISS Research Institute mainly for research and for thesis and practical semester work. The fabulous view it offers over the town due to its location on the 5th floor of the B building makes it a creative and comfortable environment. The PC workstations, soldering equipment and all other necessary work and measurement devices mean that all tasks can be carried out directly on site.
