Welcome to Furtwangen University in the Black Forest Germany

We welcome students from over 80 different countries to our three campuses in Furtwangen, Schwenningen and Tuttlingen. Top quality degree programmes offered in both German and English and cooperative partnerships with more than 140 universities around the world, are what make us stand out from the crowd. Our bachelor’s degree programmes include a practical internship semester, and projects and thesis work are usually undertaken in collaboration with our affiliates in industry. All bachelor's programmes (7 semesters) and most of our master's programmes (3 semesters) are free of tuition fees.

The International Center is responsible for supporting and counselling all foreign guests, whether Bachelor's or Master's students, exchange students from our partner universities, visitors or visiting lecturers. We provide a wide range of support and advisory services to help all our foreign guests to feel comfortable at our university and to achieve their academic and research goals.

Furtwangen University is a signatory of the National Code of Conduct for German Universities regarding International Students, set up by the German Rectors' Conference in 2009 to maintain and improve standards of support for foreign students. The main aim is to extend to international students wherever possible the same rights as Germans and EU students and to provide the assistance which they as foreign guests especially need.

In cases where the National Code of Conduct has not been complied with or for general complaints about the ERASMUS programme, international students should contact the Vice President International.
