Contributing to the academic success of students with immigrant parents

Graduates of the Faculty of Business Information Systems at Furtwangen University enjoy an excellent reputation in a variety of business sectors. This is largely due to the broad curriculum which is continually updated. This ongoing fine-tuning to keep pace with technology and economic trends and developments in the global market indicates our strong commitment to excellence.

Our high academic standards, friendly and supportive atmosphere and the inspiring surroundings of the German Black Forest make studying business computing at the Faculty of Business Information Systems in Furtwangen a very attractive learning experience.

The TREFFER WI Project, which is sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, supports both German and international students who have immigrant parents. In existance since 2012, it supports cultural integration and academic development in our faculty. Among the services which TREFFER offers are intercultural peer-to-peer mentoring, additional preparatory courses, complementary tutorials, intensive counselling and networking with local firms.

Project TREFFER WI is managed by Prof. Dr. Peter Mattheis and Prof. Dr. Bernardin Denzel, and implemented by team members Alda Campos, Julia Heinsen and Thérèse Mattheis.
