The degree programme

The Molecular and Technical Medicine bachelor's degree programme is the first of its kind at a German university of applied sciences. The programme content focuses on subjects from the natural sciences and medicine along with technical methods from both disciplines. The interdisciplinary approach allows the medical field to access the latest insights into cellular and molecular biology. Programme Content

Interdisciplinary and with a practical focus

The Molecular and Technical Medicine programme utilises new insights and methods in molecular biology for medical purposes. Since the discovery of the DNA double helix, the field of biology has developed at a dramatic pace. New methods and technologies can now decode genomes, determine the genes associated with diseases, and last but not least, help develop individual treatment plans and medication tailored to each patient. Graduates of this programme are able to take advantage of the developments in the field of biology by applying them to medical problems, thereby contributing to fundamental changes in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.

Advanced school-leaving certificate or university of applied sciences entrance qualification

An 8-week preliminary internship in a medical environment must be completed by the end of the 4th semester.
