The 13th WING half marathon and 10K run organised by the Faculty of Business Administration and Engineering took place on Saturday, 28 October 2017. The event, which brings students, both past and present, staff, professors and guests from outside the university together, was once more a great success. The run takes place in the wonderful countryside of the Black Forest and is accompanied with a complete programme of events making it an all-round fun experience for everybody.
247 runners and walkers took part in this year's WING half marathon and 10K run, which started in the HFU inner courtyard and continued along the Breg to Vöhrenbach and back to Furtwangen.
Professor Robert Schäflein-Armbruster started off the 10K run in which 169 men and women took part. 78 participants took part in the 21.1 kilometre half-marathon. Carmen Scharpfenecker (42:02) and Stefan Geiselhart (36:37, TSG Ehingen) were first in the 10K run. Katrin Köngeter (1:29:22, Furtwangen University) and Michael Ganter (1:18:22, LT Furtwangen) were the winners of the half marathon. Team WING with a total of 358 kilometres run, took first place in front of the team from the Robert-Gerwig-Schule (300 km) and the LT Furtwangen team (228 km).

After the run warm soup, cake and milkshakes were laid on for the hungry participants. During the prizegiving ceremony in the auditorium Professor Schäflein-Armbruster thanked the approximately 60 volunteers who helped make the event possible and the main sponsors, Herbert Waldmann GmbH and der Marquardt GmbH, as well as the many businesses who supported the event. A variety of prizes including original lithographies by the Villingen artist Paul Revellio were awarded.

The 14th WING half marathon and 10K run takes place on Saturday 27 October 2018.
