The IBH Living Labs research network aims to establish throughout the cross-border Lake Constance region, sustainable use of AAL technologies and the human assistance services which are connected with them (technical service combinations), which are in keeping with the individual care systems and technical standards of the individual countries.

To do so, 12 universities and 21 practice partners in the Lake Constance area have joined together to build a stable, interdisciplinary research network which identifies and analyzes the user, technical, network and market barriers facing AAL solutions, and independently develops, prepares and partially realizes specific measures for their sustainable reduction.

This process will begin within the framework of a project lasting approximately 4 years which preferably will involve the whole network. The projects realized within this time period will involve small research groups who will work on a few selected AAL barrier problem areas with the aim of realizing relevant measures.
