Faculty Student Council (Fachschaften)

The faculty student council is a group of six elected students who represent students' interests at faculty level. Members of the students' council are elected annually by the semester groups. Please find the current members here.

University Student Council (AStA)


The University Student Council, commonly known as AStA (Allgemeine Studierenden Ausschuss in German), represents the student body at university level.  It is the first point of contact for any students who have questions and problems related to studies and social support (including spiritual, artistic, musical and sports-related issues). Additionally, equipment for student parties (e.g. sound system, bar, plates, glasses, cash register, etc.) can be borrowed from the AStA offices. African Student Association

The African Student Association, based in Furtwangen, is where all African students in Furtwangen and their friends can meet. The majority of members are students at HFU. Besides supporting African culture and bilingualism, the association aims to support social integration and tolerance, to provide tutoring support to students who need it and to facilitate entry into the labour market for its members.

Big Band VS Campus


Founded during the winter semester 2008/2009, the Big Band VS Campus is composed of students and professors from both the Cooperative State University Baden-Württemberg and Furtwangen University. Their repertoire includes anything from classic Blues, Swing, Jazz and Chanson to modern pop songs.

Business Talks


Business Talks is an annual event which includes presentations, seminars and workshops by representatives of well-known companies. 
From 2012 onwards, the Business Talks Main Event forms part of the Campus Day event.

ENACTUS is one of the largest student networks worldwide. Its aim is to combine entrepreneurial spirit and social values. ENACTUS teams contribute entrepreneurial knowledge to socially-relevant projects in order to help people help themselves in a manner that ensures business success. The ENACTUS Team at HFU's Schwenningen Campus has been active since winter semester 2011 / 2012 and has twice represented the university at national level, winning the Rookie of the Year Award in 2012.

IB Consulting

IB Consulting is the student consulting firm of the HFU Business School. Any student can participate and work on projects for regional companies, thus gaining insights into a consulting firm's areas of activity.

International Student Community (ISC)

The International Student Community (ISC) is a department of the AStA. It operates in close cooperation with the International Center to improve the integration and support of international students. Members are both international and German students who enjoy getting to know fellow students from other countries and to participate in common activities. Each year, the ISC runs a number of events (international meets (Stammtisch), country evenings, movie evenings, excursions, sports activities etc.)

Stocks Floor VS

Stocks Floor VS is the student stock exchange club of the HFU Business School. Stocks Floor VS is entirely run by students. By working closely together with the BVH, the German Association of University Stock Market Clubs, we ensure our members highly interesting events and excursions. Furthermore we nurture teamwork and have a lot of fun.

VS Campus

VS Campus is the (German language) campus magazine of Schwenningen campus. It publishes current information on everyday university life, new developments at Schwenningen campus as well as news for students and citizens once a semester. The entire publication is put together by a student project group – of course we always welcome new recruits!
